Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic has admitted that his team was lucky not to lose against England at Rijeka last night. Croatia managed to draw 0-0 against England despite the latter being the better team. England had some really good scoring opportunities throughout the match but could not cash on them.

Croatia had just three shots on target throughout the match and weren’t much of a threat to England. Following the match, Dalic said, “The game was difficult as we expected. We played much better than in the previous game against Spain. It’s still not our top level that we want to play at, but it was much better. We were braver and more decisive. We were also a bit lucky with England hitting the post two times, but overall I am satisfied. I think our game organisation was fine.”

No fans witnessed the match inside the stadium because of a ban Croatia had to serve. Dalic said, “The atmosphere is not easy for anybody. It’s kind of sad for football. But hopefully this was our last time and the next match against Spain is going to be 30,000 people, and it’s going to be more fun than today.”

Croatia’s next match is against Jordan on Monday and once again, the venue is Rijeka. Their next Nations League match is against Spain on November 15 at Zagreb.
