According to Diario Sport, Dani Alves wants to reunite with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City next season after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain runs out.

The Brazilian is in the final 5 months of his 2-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions. While interests have come from his home base, the 35-year-old still wants to line up for his former boss at Barcelona.

The duo won 2 Champions League titles and 3 La Liga titles during the span of Guardiola’s 4 years in charge of the Blaugrana. Having found success everywhere he’s been to during his career, Alves is ready to make a final attempt in the Premier League.

He is destined to go down as one of the most successful footballers of all time, having already claimed 4 trophies with PSG. He is due to earn more by the end of this campaign which could certainly entice Guardiola into recalling the veteran fullback.

However, the defensive lineup is pretty stacked at the Etihad with the likes of Kyle Walker and Danilo already in the club ranks. What Guardiola needs is a left-back, not a 35-year-old who has played his entire career on the right.

Benjamin Mendy is starting to be a real injury concern with Fabian Delph proving to be not fully equipped for the post on the left flank. Oleksandr Zinchenko has slotted in when required but he too is more of an offensive player.
