Agger has found it hard to secure a spot in Rodgers side, Leaving him out of favour at Anfield and now with Dejan Lovren taking the spot alongside Martin Skrtel. Agger is now looking to the Emirates for his future.

The Reds boss also has Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho at his disposal, and is open to losing Agger ahead of the deadline on Monday night.

The Gunners are in dire need of defensive reinforcements after losing Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona in a ÂŁ15million deal.

Arsene Wenger has just Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny in his squad, and with both struggling for fitness, young right-back Calum Chambers has been drafted in at the heart of defence.

Wenger had been keeping tabs on Olympiakos star Kostas Manolas, but he now seems set to join Roma after the Italians sold Mehdi Benatia to Bayern Munich.

That leaves the door wide open for Agger to complete a switch to the Emirates, and speaking to Jyllands-Posten, the 29-year-old is convinced his future will be decided shortly.

He revealed: “The future is complicated. There are a few things that have to be sorted and we have to take it from there.

“I actually don’t know what will happen. It is a bit up to Liverpool. I have had niggling injuries at the wrong times and I have to say that it is difficult to change the team when it is winning.

“I am not frustrated by that. I am frustrated by the way it happened and the way it was handled.”
