AS Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has claimed that he would have committed suicide if he had joined Premier League side Manchester United last Summer.
The Red Devils were heavily linked with a move for the Italian with David Moyes desperate to bulk up his midfield region, but the Roma-man turned down a potential move in order to stay in Italy and stay in Seria A.
A move that he is clearly delighted with.
Roma are currently sitting second in the league, whilst United are seventh in the Premier League, and in a recent interview, De Rossi has admitted that if he joined United in the Summer, he would have killed himself.
‘It was a good thing that I didn’t go to Manchester, now I would have committed suicide,’ he told Corriere dello Sport.
‘Last summer I didn’t feel comfortable, I didn’t recognise myself in the relationship with my teammates and with the fans.’
