Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes signings are needed to pass the group stages of the Champions League. Arsenal were drew Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Marseille in the draw last night. Which could of gone a lot better for the Gooners but nothing Arsene Wenger thinks they can’t handle. Wenger seems to be realising the fact that if he does not improve his naive squad and sign some World Class players then it will be the first time in 16 years he fails to land the North London club in Champions League football.

Paul Mariner a former star of Highbury took a good look on the subject and has been talking to EXtra Time reporters. He said this in an interview around noon today. “I’ve been banging my drum for a while for Daniele De Rossi, because it seems like Roma have been selling players willy-nilly. He would be fantastic at Arsenal. His wages may be a problem and a transfer fee wouldn’t be great, but that type of player would be brilliant”.

Mariner has also voiced an opinion on other Arsenal Transfer targets such as Mesut Ozil and has said that he much too like Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla. Even though he is a fantastic player that most teams in the world would want at their club- but Arsenal need something a little bit different. Mathieu Flamini signed on yesterday after training with his former club for around three weeks. Mariner said “They’ve got Flamini back, a player that Arsene Wenger knows really well. They’ve offered him a three-year contract at 29 and, in my opinion, that’s generous.

Daniel De Rossi at the age of 30 is highly experienced and could bring a lot to the table for Arsenal but are 30 year old Italians who barely get in to the national squad the solution to Arsenal’s undeniable problems.
