Arsenal forward set to miss two more months

Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck is not closing in on a return to first-team football as reports this morning suggest he will likely be out until February.

The England international has been out of action since March earlier this year, and after undergoing surgery on a serious knee injury, he was ruled out for several months by Arsene Wenger at the start of this season.

The decision to have surgery on his knee was met by angry Arsenal fans complaining at the club for not signing another striker to cover, but with the club second in the table, they are seemingly coping without.

February Return

However, reports this morning have now emerged and are claiming that Welbeck won’t be seen again this year, and will probably miss all of January as well.

The reports are claiming Welbeck won’t be first-team fit until around February, meaning he could be back in time for the end of season title-race and also the Euros in the summer.

However, with Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane both scoring goals regularly, Welbeck will have a lot of work to do to make Roy Hodgson‘s squad.
