Danny Welbeck is set to undergo a medical at Arsenal. The Man United man has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this past week and most reports were claiming that Tottenham were about to land the striker.
However, it appears that Arsenal have pipped their North London rivals to his signature, as he prepares to have a medical at the Emirates stadium. New United boss Louis Van Gaal has deemed him surplus to requirements at the club and with Falcao set to move to Old Trafford on loan, it’s even more reason for LVG to want Welbeck gone.
Arsenal fans have been desperate for boss Arsene Wenger to sign a striker, with Olivier Giroud out injured and it looks like he could be about to do just that. The deal for the forward is a loan deal, with a £6m fee. It has been a quiet deadline day for the Gunners so far but this signing could be just what Arsenal need.
