David Luiz has made his intentions known to the Chelsea hierarchy he wants a longer stay at the club.
The 31 year old is entering the final six months of his current contract and is eligible to discuss fresh terms with any club since January 1. The Blues have been on a contract negotiating spree as after Marcos Alonso, the West London side managed to secure long term future of midfielder N’Golo Kante and defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
But when it comes to renewing terms the Blues do have a strict policy of not offering more than a one year. Luiz is not happy with this terms and this could prove to be a stumbling block in the negotiations.
His performance in the 2-0 win over Manchester City caught the attention of everyone and even manager Maurizio Sarri wants him to extend his association with the club.
Luiz said, “I am just trying to enjoy myself, like I do every single day
“Then, for sure, we will do the best thing for me, for Chelsea, for everybody.”
“We are still talking, let’s see. Let’s see what the future brings.
“I love this club, everybody knows I want to stay.”
