Manchester United manager David Moyes has held talks with Juventus’ chief transfer negotiator as he eyes a double bid for midfielders Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal.
Moyes has made it clear since his arrival that he wants to sign more midfielders, but in the Summer, he failed to capture his main two targets, Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara, so he had to settle for Marouane Fellaini, who hasn’t impressed during his time at Old Trafford.
After watching Juventus beat Cagliari 4-1 at the weekend, Moyes then spoke to Beppe Marotta of the Italian club and enquired about both Pogba and Vidal in hope that he could sign both of them this month.
However, after holding talks with the Serie A champions, it was made clear that Pogba would not be leaving and that Vidal would only leave in the Summer.
So yet another transfer blow for David Moyes and Manchester United, but this still might not put him off making a bid for one, or both.
