Manchester United manager David Moyes has admitted that he failed in the transfer window and has revealed that in his opinion the club need to sign at least two more players to win silverware this season.

Moyes’ reign at Old Trafford has got off to a slow start and his idea of signing a big player in the summer to win over the fans, seemed like a good plan at first, but unfortunately for the former-Everton boss, he couldn’t sign anyone until the deadline day.

After bidding for Barcelona duo Thiago and Cesc Fabregas, Moyes then turned his attentions to Daniele De Rossi and Gareth Bale. Once again he missed out on both.

Eventually however, Moyes did sign a player and it was his former-star Marouane Fellaini, who he signed for a whopping £27million.

Speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Liverpool in the Capital One Cup, Moyes has admitted that he needed more signings.

‘Maybe where we’ve got work to do is to bring players in, not for the squad, but to go right into the team. But that will happen.

‘Going back to that transfer window, we always said it was going to be a tough one and it was going to take a bit more time. So yes, it does mean I may have to take a few more blows.

‘I knew this was going to be the case because I was taking over from a great manager and it was always going to take time for me to change things.’
