Ex-United boss wants club striker at Sunderland

New Sunderland boss David Moyes is interested in loaning Will Keane from his old club Manchester United.

Moyes, who succeeded England manager Sam Allardyce, is desperate to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.

The Black Cats are yet to bring in a single new face so far this summer, with Wes Brown, Danny Graham and Steve Harper all leaving.

And Moyes knows that, if he is to keep them in the Premier League, he needs a striker capable of easing the goalscoring burden on Jermain Defoe.

According to The Sun, the Scot is keen on Keane with the 23-year-old growing tired of life at Old Trafford.

He made his debut for the Red Devils under Sir Alex Ferguson, with injuries then scuppering his development under Louis van Gaal and David Moyes.
