Real Sociedad manager David Moyes has been handed a two-match ban by the Spanish Football Federation following his sending-off in a Copa Del Rey fixture on Wednesday evening.
Moyes, aged 51, argued with match officials during the aggregate defeat to Villarreal over an off-side decision, before being sent to the stands from his touchline.
He has been handed a one game ban for being dismissed by referee Carlos Velasco Carballo and one for climbing over a wall into the stands at the Anoeta Stadium.
And those minutes of remenstrating with the officials have landed the former Manchester United manager with a two-game touchline ban.
Once he had found his way into the stands, and found a seat, Moyes accepted a crisp from a fellow spectator, before reluctantly declining another supporters’ peanuts, with the savory snack also offered to the recently appointed boss.
“I shouldn’t have argued with the referee but I thought both of the decisions were incorrect,” Moyes said earlier on Friday.
“But I left the dugout and I went to watch the game in the stands. I am a football supporter as well and I wanted to watch the game with the supporters.
“I’ve been a supporter all my life. I go to a lot of football games and I thought the supporters were very good.”
The San Sebastian outfit, who are 12 in La Liga, host Real Vallecano this coming Sunday.
