Belgium star flopped at Chelsea

Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, has revealed that he would be open to a move back to the Barclays Premier League.

The Belgian international departed English shores in January 2014, having failed to break into Chelsea‘s first-team on a regular basis.

Since his £21million arrival at Wolfsburg, De Bruyne has won many admirers with some excellent performances in the Bundesliga – as the 23-year-old helped his side to a second place finish in the German top-flight, and a Domestic Cup win, after Wolfsburg beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the DFB Pokel Final in Berlin.

De Bruyne scored 18 times for the Wolves last term, form which has subsequently seen him become a summer transfer target for Manchester City and Manchester United.

German title-holders, Bayern Munich, remain keen on his services too, leaving both United and City in somewhat of a rush to get any deal done.

Wolfsburg face a fight on their hands to keep hold of the recently named Bundesliga player of the year, who has also stated that he is open to moves to Spain,  France or another club in Germany – as well as English interest.

De Bruyne on his future

The in-demand player is currently valued at around £35million by his current employers – as Europe’s elite prepare bids for him.

And in a recent interview with German paper Bild, De Bruyne teased his admirers by saying that he would be open for a move away.

“If I leave, I have no preference where I go. In my head, it is 95% I won’t go to Russia or Italy. It is not my style of play.

“But England, Spain, France or the Bundesliga, yes. They are the best leagues. There are some very good teams. That appeals to me.”
