De Gea hasn’t joined Real Madrid because of Cristiano Ronaldo
David De Gea has been linked to a move to Real Madrid for quite a while now, with a fax error making headlines two years back, preventing the Spanish giants from acquiring his services.
Club president Florentino Perez has been keeping an eye on the shot-stopper, despite Jose Mourinho making it clear that he wants to keep De Gea at Old Trafford.
According to a report in Diaro Gol, Portuguese football agent Jorge Mendes, who handles both Cristiano Ronaldo and David De Gea, is having a tough time balancing the deal out, because all is not well with Ronaldo at Madrid.
With Keylor Navas reported to be exiting in the summer, Mendes seems to be trying a £10.5m salary for De Gea to switch from Old Trafford to the Bernabeu, a deal which now has hit a new roadblock owing to the Ballon D’or winner’s problems at his current club.
