Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has reportedly signed a new five year contract with the Red Devils, snubbing a move to Real Madrid in the process.

The new deal has been reported on social media by media outlets and this new improved contract would see the goalkeeper net an impressive £140,000 a week. However, few would argue that he doesn’t deserve improved terms after his stellar performances over the last two seasons at Old Trafford.

Having replaced Edwin Van Der Sar as the club’s number one back in 2011, the Spaniard struggled in his opening campaign after his £17 million switch from Atletico Madrid. But, since adapting to the English game the 24 year-old has earned rave reviews for his performances in goal for the Manchester side.

Rumours have persisted that La Liga giants Real are chasing the Spanish international’s signature, but now many sources are reporting that the former Atletico man has penned a deal keeping him at United until 2020.
