A whole host of premier league teams have been put on alert as Feyenoord centre-back Stefan De Vrij has admitted that he will probably leave the Dutch club.
The 22-year-old has attracted interest from Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United who now all could make a move for the defender.
It looks increasingly likely that De Vrij could arrive at Old Trafford as new Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is currently working with the defender in the national side.
Van Gaal gave De Vrij his Holland debut and with gaps left from the departures of Ferdinand and Vidic, Van Gaal may decide to tempt the player to join the club.
Liverpool and Tottenham have also been long-term admirers of the defender.
When speaking to RTV Rijnmond, De Vrij said: “The chances are that I will leave, I can probably confirm this.
“I am with the Dutch national team so I don’t know the exact details.”
