Dele Alli is hoping to see some new history being created at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium.

The Spurs midfielder got a taste of the new state of the art stadium which will hold its first competitive match on 3rd April when Spurs host Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The stadium was supposed to be operational from September but a number of untimed delays deferred the opening. The new facility has been built on the same site following the demolition of the old White Hart Lane and will have a capacity of more than 62,000 people.

Spurs are also expected to host Manchester City in the Champions League quarter final at their brand new home.

Alli said, “It still has the same feeling of when I was playing at White Hart Lane.

“It’s amazing and we’re all very excited, we’ve been waiting for this for a long time. It’s finally come.

“There were a lot of memories at White Hart Lane, hopefully we can make some better ones here. You never know what is going to happen in football, but we definitely feel the club is heading [in the right direction].

“We’re getting better as a team and we have to keep doing that. We’ve got some great young players and an amazing manager. We’re all enjoying playing together and we want to try and create history.”
