West Brom showing interest in signing Senegal forward

Demba Ba is reportedly regretting his move away from Chelsea and is looking for a route back into the Premier League – with West Brom apparently showing interest.

The former Blues and Newcastle striker left Stamford Bridge last summer for Turkish side Besiktas after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho. He had wanted to remain in England but eventually moved to Turkey for an estimated £8million.

He scored 23 goals for the club last season, but wants a bigger challenge, pleading for a Premier League club to make him an offer.

A Desperate Plea

“The fans in Turkey are very passionate and create a great atmosphere but it is no secret that the standard of football is of a lower quality than in England,” he said.

“The way I left Chelsea was not ideal but that’s life.

“I am still young and I believe I have another big move left in my career.

“The Premier League interests me and I am keeping my options open.”

West Brom are thought to be interested in the striker, with the Birmingham Mail reporting talks could take place before the week is out.

Ba first moved to the Premier League in 2011 when he joined West Ham from Hoffenheim, before switching to Newcastle six months later.

He was signed by Chelsea for £7m in January 2013 but scored just seven league goals for the Blues before being moved on.
