France head coach Didier Deschamps has praised defender Benjamin Pavard

France head coach Didier Deschamps has came forward to praise his player and French defender Benjamin Pavard performance in the recent World Cup.

Pavard was one of an important player which helped France win the World cup after 20 years. The coach has labeled his player as the new ‘star’ player after his World Cup heroic.

The defender has became the prime targets for big European clubs and Deschamps admitted that the player deserve such clubs. Pavard has been linked to move to clubs like Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspurs.

In talks with the reporters, the France Football boss has heavily praised the player.

He said, “Despite their former status and some inexperience at this level, Benjamin Pavard and Lucas [Hernandez] were brilliant and stabilised the defence,”

“These two fighters made a big difference. Benjamin has become a star and he deserves it. He’s not so media-focused. He’s very friendly, appreciated by his team-mates, and has an incredible amount of self-confidence.”

“He once said to me: ‘I’m not afraid of anyone!’ So I told him: ‘You can think that, but never say it to the media.'”

Deschamps has also spoken about Germany’s decision to retain their World cup winning coach, Joachim Low despite Germany’s early exit in the Group stage from the World cup in Russia. Germany finished last in their Group.

He said, “It will be a great pleasure for me [to see Low]. Continuity is very important for national teams… [it’s] better for the players and also the coach.”
