Ivorian wants to train with former-club
Chelsea legend has admitted he wants to return to the club – but only to train.
The Ivorian striker is out-of-season now with the MLS ending and he is hoping Chelsea will allow him to return in order to keep fit and train with the first-team.
Drogba left Stamford Bridge for Montreal Impact over the summer, and after a stunning debut season in America, he’s keen to remain fit and believes training with the Premier League champions will help him keep a step ahead for next season.
The 37-year-old scored 12 goals in 14 appearances for Montreal, helping them reach the play-off semi-finals, and he’s now hoping he can return to England in order to train with Jose Mourinho‘s side.
Drogba Eyes Training
“To train? Why not? But it’s something I would need to discuss with [Montreal], because I belong to them,” he told French news agency AFP.
“I signed a one-and-a-half year contract, I always like to respect what I have signed.”
No to Loan
Some reports suggested Drogba returning on a short-term loan deal, much like Thierry Henry did at Arsenal, but the veteran has quickly denied those suggestions.
“Playing? I’m not too hot on that idea,” he added.
“I need to rest and make sure that I’m ready for the new season.”
