According to AS, Diego Costa has apparently agreed to re-join La Liga side Atletico Madrid
Costa’s exit from Chelsea moves a major step closer.
The report claims that Atletico have tabled a bid to the Premier League champions in excess of £26million for the centre-forward, however, the Blues did not consider this to be an acceptable offer.
The striker is set for a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer after Chelsea boss Antonio Conte informed him via text message that he is surplus to requirements at the club next season.
Costa, who remains on holiday in Brazil, will not be included in Chelsea’s pre‑season tour of east Asia and was absent as the Premier League title winners reported back to work on Monday morning, 24 hours after the manager, Antonio Conte.
Costa scored 58 goals in all competitions during his three-year spell in West London.
