Roman Abramovich no longer wants Atletico Madrid manager
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has made a drastic decision by taking Diego Simeone off his managerial wishlist, according to reports.
The Atletico Madrid boss has been heavily linked with taking over the reigns at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season, but according to reports today, Abramovich has ruled him out of the running.
Chelsea are still without a permanent manager following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho, and with Guus Hiddink set to leave the club in the next few months, Abramovich is upping his search.
Simeone Off The List
Reports emerged earlier in the week that the Russian had a five-man shortlist, but the latest reports have claimed Simeone is not on that list anymore.
According to reports, the Atletico boss has ‘slipped off’ Abramovich’s radar because the owner is not a fan of his style of play and his man management.
Abramovich believes Simeone is very similar to Mourinho, and that’s something the Chelsea owner wants to avoid.
It’s also been reported that Abramovich has added four Premier League managers to his wishlist.
