Diego Simeone Pays a massive Compliment To Antonio Conte’s Chelsea
Chelsea came from behind to beat the La Liga giants, courtesy of a last-minute winner from Michy Batshuayi.
A week from the game, Diego Simeone recalls the European match by admitting his side couldn’t cope with Chelsea’s tactics, and even going as far as saying he’s never faced a team like it.
“We had never faced a team with the intensity of Chelsea,” Simeone told Cadena Sar via Evening Standard.
“We struggled to press them effectively. We improved when (Antoine) Griezmann went on (Tiemoue) Bakayoko and left David Luiz free. But we were imprecise.”
“The English teams have improved so it’s much more open. There is less margin for error now.,” Simeone added.
