West Ham United rocked as star’s agent wants lucrative contract for midfielder
West Ham United officials have been stunned with Dimitri Payet’s agent demanding a new and improved contract worth around £125k-a-week for his client.
The Frenchman has only been at Upton Park since the summer, but he’s been Slaven Bilic‘s star-man throughout the campaign, despite missing a couple of months through injury.
West Ham signed Payet in a deal worth £10.75million, with a contract worth around £68k-a-week. However, according to reports, his agent wants that increased already to a whopping £125k.
Agent’s Request
His agent has made the request to the club’s board, who have been left staggered at the thought of paying £50k-a-week more for a player they’ve only just signed.
Payet signed a five-and-a-half year deal over the summer, so the board at Upton Park are stunned at his agent’s demands, especially with the midfielder already on a hefty sum and already earning an impressive appearance bonus of £10k for every start he makes.
The London club have no intentions of selling their star-asset, so they are hopeful a deal can be struck before the end of the season.
