Arsenal goalkeeper set for season in Championship
Arsenal Football Club have announced that Emi Martinez has left the club and joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old ‘keeper has been third choice at the Emirates Stadium for the past few seasons, and with Wojciech Szczesny sent out on loan to AS Roma, it looked like he was set for another spell as third-choice at Arsenal.
Done Deal
However, the club have decided to loan him out for the season and he has agreed to join Championship side Wolves.
Martinez was behind both Petr Cech and David Ospina in the pecking order at the Emirates, but his loan move away leaves The Gunners with just two goalkeepers.
The Argentine shot-stopper spent the end of last season out on loan in the Championship with Rotherham United, so he knows the league well and will continue his development at the Midlands club.
