Striker signs new deal until 2019

Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has signed a contract extension at the French club, ending all speculation regarding his future.

The French forward had been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all interested in signing him.

However, Lacazette has ended all speculation by penning a new deal in France.

The 24-year-old had his best season yet last year after scoring 27 goals for the Ligue 1 side, and after that impressive campaign, he was expected to complete a big move to England, but he has ended that speculation by committing to Lyon.

Lacazett’s old deal ran until 2018, but he’s now signed a one-year extension and he’s revealed his delight at the new deal.

Lyon Delight

Lacazette said: “I am happy and proud to extend my contract.

“People can stop talking. Now I hope they will speak of me because I’m scoring and Lyon are winning.”

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas added: “I am very happy that Alexandre Lacazette extends for one year until 2019!”
