Borussia Dortmund willing to add Robert Lewandowski back to the club

Joachim Watzke, Dortmund’s chief wants to add Lewandowski back to the German club and is willing to spend even €100 million (£88.8m/$116m) to bring Bayern Munich striker.

The striker was a part of Dortmund for 4 years before leaving the side for their rival, Bayern Munich.

The striker represented Dortmund in over 180 games across all leagues and scored 103 goals for the side. He then moved on to join their rivals Bayern Munich in 2014. He has represented the side in over 190 games and scored in more than 150 occasions.

However Bayern president  Uli Hoeness has dismissed the talks of the striker leaving the club. The president said that the player has a contract until 2021 and the player is not for sale at any cost.

Watzke in talks with SportsBILD, the Borussia Dortmund chief admitted to offer a big figure for the transfer.

He said, “Robert knows the business, the league, even the club and we know he would work right away,

“Only a handful of players in the world can give you this security. For such a player, I would be willing to pay even 100 million euros.”

If the deal happen then Robert will be the most expensive signing in the history of the club surpassing Andre Schurrle, who joined for €30 million from Wolfsburg in 2016. But the chief is ready to pay for the talent to bring them home.

“The players in the top segment no longer cost 50, but rather 100 million euros,” he said.

We could handle that, too, if we absolutely want to have a player and are a thousand per cent convinced. But to be honest, I much prefer to create such players myself. BVB has always been strongest when developing its stars.”
