Bayern Munich star wanted to work with Pep Guardiola
Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa has revealed why he snubbed a move to Chelsea over the summer – so that he could work under Pep Guardiola.
The Brazilian forward was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge while playing for Ukraine outfit Shakhtar Donetsk, but in July, he chose to move to Bayern Munich instead.
The Bundesliga champions paid £25million for the 25-year-old, and he’s been a real hit since with his lightning pace and ability to hold the ball at his feet.
So far this season, Costa has got himself 12 assists and also scored six goals for Guardiola‘s side, and the Brazilian has admitted it was because of the manager why he chose to move to the Allianz Arena.

“Chelsea also wanted me,” he told Bild.
“There was great interest and they made great efforts, but I wanted to join Pep Guardiola by all means. And Bayern.
“It was a conscious decision in favour of Pep and Bayern because I was convinced that I can learn more here.”
