Sean Dyche confirms that the club expect the departure of Ings:

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has admitted that he expects striker Danny Ings to leave in the summer.

The 22-year-old is the top scorer at the Clarets, having found the net on ten occasions so far this term, as the East Lancashire outfit suffered relegation to the Championship, after just a solitary campaign in the top-flight.

Ings‘ current contract expires at the end of this season, with several sides’ keen on his services. Liverpool and David Moyes Real Sociedad, are just two teams who are tracking the forward, who is capped at England U21 level.

But following the goalless draw with Stoke City at Turf Moor on Saturday, manager Sean Dyche revealed that he expects Ings to leave.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5Live, Dyche stated:

“It’s good to see his development.

“But it looks like it won’t continue with us.”

“He and his agent have put the message out that they are looking at pastures new.

“Every player has the right to run down their contract if they should want to. We will see what happens in the summer.”

Ings in-demand:

As mentioned above, Ings is a summer target for Liverpool, having been subject of a bid by the Anfield outfit in the January transfer window.

Brendan Rodgers‘ side face stiff competition from Premier League rivals for the player, as Tottenham Hotspur have also reportedly registered an interest.

Ings signed for Burnley from AFC Bournemouth in the summer of 2011, for a £1million transfer fee.
