Burnley manager Sean Dyche has stated that he hopes to strengthen his squad for his sides Premier League campaign, reports Sky Sports.

The Clarets start their first campaign in the Premier League for four years with a Monday evening fixture at Turf Moor against Chelsea.

Dyche has brought in six new signings in the off season, with goalkeeper Matthew Gilks, Matt Taylor, Marvin Sordell, Steven Reid, Michael Kightly and Lukas Jutkiewicz all signing since the Clarets promotion from the Championship, to the top flight in late April.

And the Burnley boss has stated that the club are still looking to bring players in before the end of the August transfer deadline day.

Dyche stated to The Burnley Express: â€śWe’re still in the market, we’re still active, and we’re trying and trying, especially on two or three things that are building.

“We want competition, but I made it clear the team last year brought their own competition on with the way they went about their business.

“It’s an important factor, and they certainly this pre-season have looked like they’re willing to do that again, so we’ve been happy with that.”

Burnley have been linked with Nottingham Forest centre midfielder Henri Lansbury in recent weeks, as they look to continue their preperation for the season.
