Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has signed a contract extension with the south-coast club.

The 37-year-old, who was already under a long-term contract with the recently promoted side, will extend his stay at Dean Court beyond 2020.

Having initially took over the Cherries prior to the 2008/2009 term, Howe returned back to the club in October 2012, following a brief stint at Burnley, to lead Bournemouth to two=promotions, and top-flight football.

The news will come as a relief to the supporters of the club, who have lost Callum Wilson, Max Gradal, Tyrone Mings and most recently, Tommy Elphick, all to long-term injuries.

Speaking to Bournemouth’s official website, owner Maxim Denim said: “I am delighted that Eddie has committed his future to the club

“Eddie and I have a very close relationship, we speak everyday and we trust each other implicitly when making decisions that affect the football club.

“The mutual respect we have for each other has helped create a unique bond at the top of the club and has acted as the foundation for all of our recent successes.

“Together we have managed to achieve a great deal in a short space of time, and I have complete faith in Eddie and his management team to establish AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League over the coming seasons.”
