The Belgian has described a pep talk that he recieved from Patrick Kluivert whilst at Lille as one of the turning points in his career.

He left the Ligue 1 side in 2012, making the move to Chelsea for no less than ÂŁ32m.

Since then, Hazard has scored 43 goals, as well as assisting 47, whilst winning the Europa League and the Club’s Player Of The Year in the meantime.

Kluivert warned a young, 16-year-old Hazard that the raw telent he had would not be enough for him to become world class, and when asked about the most valuable piece of advice he has recieved, Hazard replied: “I remember the first time I met Patrick Kluivert and shook his hand.”

“I played with him at Lille. He said: ‘Yeah, you’re young, you have good quality, but work. You have to work. Every day you have to work if you want to be one of the best.’ I remember that very well.”
