Huge blow for Atletico Madrid and Chelsea

Edinson Cavani moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli on a five-year contract in 2013, for a fee believed to be around €64 million. Since then he has been the mainstay in the team and currently the club’s all time top goalscorer, beating Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s record by scoring his 157th goal against Montpellier back in January.

The Uruguay International has been in dazzling form this season, scoring 40 goals in all competitions for the club. He has helped his team to win the Domestic Treble.

But the 31 year old has found himself pushed into the shade by Neymar, who joined the Ligue 1 giants from Barcelona last summer. He has even admitted that he had troubles with the Brazilian in the past and thus has been heavily linked with summer exit.

Cavani have been linked to Atletico Madrid and Chelsea in recent weeks, as both the clubs are in the market for a new striker. Antoine Griezmann is likely to join Barcelona this summer and Alvaro Morata could return back to his former club Juventus.

But the former Napoli man has claimed that he is not planning to leave PSG this summer.

“My future is here, of course,” he said as quoted by Goal.com. “I think that it has been a good season — intense. We must enjoy moments like these. I am pleased for the supporters and to be here.

“Four consecutive Coupe de France wins represents a lot of history for PSG. We are here to win and win titles for the club.”
