Uruguayan comments on future

Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani has released a statement regarding his future following months of speculation.

The Uruguayan international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all interested in signing him.

Cavani‘s time in Paris has been mixed, with his first season leading to his unhappiness due to being played out of position by Laurent Blanc. However, he did still contribute with goals, despite being pushed out onto the wing.

This season, Cavani has spent more time on the bench, and although his goal tally is still impressive, he’s not playing as many minutes.

Speaking about his future though, he’s stated that his only concern is PSG and he’s not thinking about his next move just yet.

Statement

“I respect my club, like all those I played until the last day,” he said.

“I wear the shirt of this club, I will defend it as if I had been supporting the club all my life.

“The only thing I can say is that, beyond the ups and downs that I had since I was there, of all the debates that had on me, I have always tried to respect the team, the club and the jersey at the time of entering the field.

“I will try to continue like this, to give the best football depends on many things, so you never know… I hope things continue like this as long as possible.”
