Chelsea and Manchester City set for transfer battle
Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani is set to be in the middle of a transfer battle involving Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City.
The Uruguayan has been continuously linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions after having a testy relationship with Laurent Blanc.
Cavani voiced his displeasure at being played out of position during his first season with PSG, only to be dropped for the majority of this season, still playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Despite the Swedish striker expected to leave this summer, Cavani could also seek a move away from the club, leaving Blanc with no strikers at all.
Premier League Interest
Cavani is wanted by Chelsea and City, with both clubs getting new managers who are expected to make drastic changes over the summer.
City will have Pep Guardiola, while Chelsea are expected to have Antonio Conte, and both of them want to lure Cavani to their respective new clubs.
The 29-year-old has his heart set on a move to the Premier League, but as of yet, it’s not understood whether he’d prefer Manchester or London.
It’s believed interested parties will have to pay a minimum of £40million for the striker.
