The Gunners expect to sell this Summer

According to reports, it’s going to be a busy Summer for Arsenal Football Club as they prepare to sell EIGHT players from their squad.

Earlier this month Arsene Wenger confirmed that the club will look into selling players before they bring any new faces in, and it seems like up to eight stars could be set for the chop.

Sell to Buy

Wenger insisted that he wants to bring in more world-class players to the Emirates Stadium in order to challenge with Chelsea for the Premier League title next season, but before doing so, he knows he has to free up squad room and also finances in order to stay inline with Financial Fair Play.

With sales expected, up to eight first-team players could be told to find new clubs over the Summer.

Eight Likely to Leave

According to reports, the eight likely to leave are; Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky, Abou Diaby, Mathieu Flamini, Joel Campbell, Carl Jenkinson, Ryo Miyaichi and captain Mikel Arteta.

Four of the eight listed are expected to leave on a free once their contracts expire at the end of the current season.

Out of Contract or Sold

Rosicky, Diaby, Flamini and Arteta are all in their last month of contracts in North London and don’t look likely to be offered new deals, whilst the other four listed would be sold.

Walcott has struggled to return to form after his long-term knee injury, whilst Campbell, Jenkinson and Miyaichi are all currently out on loan and aren’t in Wenger’s future plans.
