Karim El Ahmadi is relishing the prospect of completing his proposed move to Aston Villa and testing himself against the cream of the English Premier League.

Villa are close to reaching an agreement with Feyenoord for the Morocco international.

It is understood that representatives from both sides will meet in the next few days to discuss the finer details of the transfer.

El Ahmadi is confident a deal will be done, with his thoughts having already turned to life at Villa Park.

“Aston Villa is a top club,” the  midfielder told the Express and Star.

“I will miss Feyenoord, but nobody will blame me for taking this step.

“I am looking forward to playing against clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal.”

New Villa boss Paul Lambert is keen to finalise El Ahmadi’s arrival in time for the start of pre-season training on July 5th.
