Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that his side need to improve defensively. The Gunners won their last match in the Premier League against Fulham but conceded again en route to their 4-1 victory. The north London giants were taken to the sword by the league leaders Liverpool in their last but second outing in the Premier League, which saw the Reds score five goals against them as the Arsenal defenders literally lay flat on the floor.
Speaking to the media in the post-match conference, the Spaniard said, “Our challenge now is to improve defensively.”
He added, “We are very happy with the attacking players and scoring a lot of goals like today. We are high team in terms of scoring. We need defence also to take more balance and improve. We need to work. We need to prepare for the second half of the season. We need to do better in the second half of the season, tactically and we are going to do that.”
Arsenal are currently on the fifth position in the league table and are set to face Blackpool in their next match in the FA Cup third round.
