Enzo Maresca’s frustration with Mykhailo Mudryk grows amid Chelsea’s recent win
Enzo Maresca’s honeymoon period at Chelsea appears to be coming to an abrupt end, with the Italian manager expressing growing frustration over Mykhailo Mudryk’s recent performances.
Chelsea’s 2-0 victory against Servette in the Europa Conference League, secured by goals from Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke, was marred by concerns over Mudryk’s lackluster display.
Maresca had afforded Mudryk a chance to redeem himself after the winger’s omission from the Manchester City defeat. However, Mudryk’s performance fell short of expectations.
Enzo Maresca is losing patience with Mykhailo Mudryk. He’s been incredibly indecisive & wasted several promising attacks. Maresca is trying to coach him through the game but Mudryk looks lost out of possession. Doesn’t know where or when to press.

His indecisiveness and inability to capitalize on key moments did not go unnoticed. According to journalist Ryan Taylor, Maresca is fast losing patience with the Ukrainian international.
“Mudryk has been incredibly indecisive,” Taylor noted.
“He wasted several promising attacks and struggled to find his place on the pitch. Maresca’s efforts to guide him through the game haven’t paid off. Mudryk’s confusion about when and where to press has left him looking lost out of possession.”
This growing frustration comes as a significant blow for Mudryk, who was once hailed as a promising talent.
The winger’s inability to make a strong impact against Servette could now jeopardize his place in the starting XI for Chelsea’s upcoming match against Wolves.
With Maresca’s patience wearing thin, Mudryk faces the challenge of proving his worth quickly.
In contrast, Noni Madueke, who also featured in the match, made a compelling case for a more permanent spot in the team.
His goal against Servette continued his impressive pre-season form, suggesting he could be a more reliable option on the left flank.
As Chelsea prepares for their next challenge, the spotlight will be on Maresca’s decision-making regarding his attacking options.
Mudryk’s future at the club could hinge on his ability to turn around his performances and regain the confidence of his manager.
