The French side’s injury problems continue to mount.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Maxim Choupo-Moting joined the club’s lengthy injury list after he limped out of their Ligue 1 match with Reims.

Paris Saint-Germain’s injury problems continue to mount after Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting limped out of their Ligue 1 match with Reims on Wednesday, as the reigning French champions suffered their second defeat in the top-flight this season.

The 30-year-old forward, who had made little impact on the game, received a knock in the 43rd minute and was immediately replaced by Angel Di Maria three minutes before half-time. PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel’s frustration on the touchline was clear with Choupo-Moting potentially joining a lengthy list on the sidelines.

Choupo-Moting joins fellow strikers Mauro Icardi, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani on the treatment table, which leaves 17-year-old Arnaud Kalimuendo as the only centre-forward available for Thomas Tuchel. The Cameroonian has had a good start to the 2019-20 season, matching his tally of three goals in 22 league appearances last term in just five matches this season.

Before this season, since moving to Schalke in the summer of 2014, Choupo-Moting has just 26 goals in 124 league games across Bundesliga, Premier League, and Ligue 1 play.

Gambia’s Hassane Kamara led Reims’ surprise victory against the hosts at the Parc des Princes with his first-half header before Boulaye Dia’s sealed the win with his stoppage-time effort. The defeat was PSG’s first home defeat in a league game since May 2018.
