Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has said his Spurs future is not dependant on whether or not they get Champions League football, and would not seek a move away from the club if they failed to make top 4. Centre-back Jan Vertonghen earlier in the week hinted that his future at White Hart Lane would become in doubt if Tottenham missed out on Champions League football, but playmaker Eriksen is focused on his future in North London.

“I don’t know what the other guys are thinking, but I am happy where I am, and hopefully we will get Champions League anyway. I think it is important for the club, and the calibre of player that could come, or stay. I think everybody wants to go to the Champions League.”

Spurs are 5th in the Premier League at the moment with 10 games to go, six points adrift of 2nd placed Liverpool, and Eriksen hopes to return from injury to face Chelsea on Saturday night.

“A win would show everyone we are top 4 contenders, it would show we are still in the race, that is what we want. If we want to get into the top 4 we have to win these games, if we win again it’s so close anything can happen.”

“But we know we have to play really well to beat Chelsea, and Arsenal, we know that.”
