Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is still entertaining the possibility of winger Ousmane Dembele leaving the club. Dembele came to Barcelona last summer but wasn’t a regular for them last season due to a hamstring injury. With the arrival of Malcom, Dembele’s place in the squad is in doubt. Earlier, Valverde said that Dembele would stay at the club but now, he isn’t sure. PSG have shown interest in the winger and have reportedly made an approach to sign him.

Valverde said, “I don’t know if there’s an option or not or if [he could leave]. I am the coach and I continue to count on him and want him to stay. As the coach, I am not thinking that any players could leave.

The 54-year old added, “I am happy with the players we have. That said, we’re still open to any opportunities on the market. Last year, for example, when we lost a player just before the season we had to [turn to the transfer market]. But I have good players and I am not worried [about more signings]. I have not asked for anyone else.”

Barcelona play Sevilla today at the Supercopa de Espana at Tangier.
