Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde is still coming to terms with Barcelona’s shocking defeat to Leganes in the La Liga.
Barcelona came into the match with an unbeaten record while Leganes had managed to garner just one point from their previous five encounters. The match started on a bright note as Philippe Coutinho brilliant volley gave the away side an early break through.
But things got changed as Leganes hit back in quick succession through Nabil El Zhar and Oscar Rodriguez to inflict a first defeat on the Catalan giants. The Spanish manager made a couple of changes to the starting lineup but couldn’t avert a defeat as his side now have dropped five points in the last two games.
Valverde said, ‘It’s not a result that can be explained. It’s not an easy moment. We weren’t expecting this.
‘(But) we need to expect that things like this can happen and we have to be ready to turn things around when they get difficult.
‘We found it hard to create chances, and they shut up shop at the back.’
‘We have another important game on Saturday in front of our fans. We have to pick ourselves up and we’ll need everyone’s help to do that.’
