Alejandro Moreno feels Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata are on the same page as both strikers have been a problem for their respective sides.
Manchester United signed Lukaku for £75m from Everton last season while Morata arrived at Chelsea from Real Madrid. Both players have had their fair share problems to deal with but the Blues have faced more problems with the Spanish forward this season.
Lukaku had a long goal drought in the Premier League but managed to cover up some distance to some extent with four goals in the last six matches. But Maurizio Sarri had to use Eden Hazard as a false nine as Morata failed to live up to the bill so far this season.
Moreno said, “ It’s a similar problem to what we have with Chelsea and Alvaro Morata.
“Guys that you thought were going to be the answer and have proven not to be the case.
If you’re Manchester United you can look at it from the perspective of ‘we invested in Romelu Lukaku, it did not work, but we have found ourselves, and almost stumbled upon the idea of Marcus Rashford becoming the number one.’
“And if he’s the number one, the only way that he is a number one is if he is playing consistently.
“Not with the shadow of Romelu Lukaku.
“If Lukaku’s going to be coming off the bench so be it, if that’s going to be a problem then you have to move him on.”
