Leroy Sane might be edging towards a Bayern Munich transfer.

Bayern made their desire to sign Sane extremely clear last summer. They had their club chiefs, players and manager talking about the player in public. City, where Sane is currently employed where caught in an undesirable situation.

Sane is obviously a world-class talent but with the level of intense competition involving the likes of Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, and Riyad Mahrez, Sane was not getting regular first-team action. They were trying their best to put a hold on the move and were agitated more into doing so given Bayern’s careless transfer approach.

They ended up by putting a major block on the deal by slapping over a ÂŁ100 million price tag on him. It got even worse as Sane suffered a season-ending injury back in August to put a temporary stopper to the deal.

However, now Michael Rummenigge has claimed that due to the expiring contract and the pandemic outbreak, a cheaper deal is very much on the cards!

“Bayern would have bought him for 100 to 120 million euros (£87-105million) before the cruciate ligament rupture, an obligation could now be significantly cheaper and maybe only cost 50 million (£44million),” he wrote.

Before adding: “Sane’s contract with Manchester City ends in 2021, after which he would be free of charge.”
