Aboubakar Kamara set to miss the game against Brighton

Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri is waiting on the outcome of a club investigation on Aboubakar Kamara but the Italian believes his absence from the squad will not have a negative impact on the players.

Reports claim that Kamara was arrested for some incident at the training ground last week and the Cottagers are currently conducting an investigation on the matter.

Kamara has made the headlines for the wrong reasons on and off the field this season, with the forward involved in a bust-up with Aleksandar Mitrovic during a yoga session at the training ground before he snatched the ball from the Serbian to take a penalty against Huddersfield.

The Frenchman is set to miss the upcoming Premier League fixture against Brighton but Ranieri is confident that his team is totally focussed on their job.

“I don’t know what happened here, there is a club investigation,” he told a news conference. “I am waiting.

“If he comes back, there is no problem. For the team, there is no problem. It has had no influence, everybody is working well. It’s no problem.”

Asked whether Kamara is involved with the first team, Ranieri replied: “At this moment, no. He’s suspended from the club, but I am waiting.”

“Mawson will have a check in six weeks,” the manager said. “He’s not finished for the season, I wait for him to be ready at the end of the season.

“We’ll check on his surgery in six weeks. Then we can restart with him for the last month. The last five matches I think he’ll be ready.”
