The Forward’s current deal now running until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Wilfried Zaha has signed a new contract extension with Crystal Palace thus bringing an end to speculation regarding his future. His current deal is now running until the end of the 2022-2023 campaign.

The Ivory Coast International came up through the ranks of the Eagles and made his senior debut for the club in the 2010-2011 season. He was instrumental in the club’s promotion to the Premier League before joining Manchester United.

But the winger struggled to find his feet at United as he found himself out of favour by then manager David Moyes. In the following season he went to Palace on a loan deal before making the move permanent in 2015.

Since then the 25 year old has been the main man for the club, singlehandedly winning many matches for them. He has developed himself as one of the best and most exciting performers in the league.

The Ivorian enjoyed his most productive campaign ever last season, scoring 9 goals and assisting 3 in 29 league appearances despite sidelined for 2 separate spells. His performances helped the club secure the Premier League football as they failed to win a single match in the 9 games he missed.

He signed a new five-year deal last summer worth around £110,000 a week. Despite that he attracted lot of attention from Tottenham and Chelsea throughout this summer and it was tipped that he will leave the club.

But amid transfer links, he got his season off to the best possible start with a goal in his side’s 2-0 win over Fulham in their Premier League opener.

“I’m very pleased. Obviously, I just wanted to get it over and done with, so I can just focus on the season,” the 25-year-old said in a club statement as quoted by Goal.

“I’m buzzing that we managed to get it sorted.”

Chairman Steve Parrish added: “Wilf grew up a stone’s throw from Selhurst Park from the age of four, and has been with the club since he was 12. This agreement is yet another example of his lifelong commitment to the club, and our commitment to him.

“This is an amazing day for everyone here at Palace, our supporters and of course Wilf – and is richly deserved.”
