Deal agreed for Arsenal star

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny appears to be on his way out of North London after the Gunners agreed a deal with Roma.

The Italian club are due to host their former player for a medical tomorrow, before completing a deal.

Pole Szczesny, 26, was on loan at Roma from Arsenal last season, making 42  appearances for the Giallorossi.

And the Mail claims that Szczesny will go back to the Italian capital, on loan once again, this time with an option to buy at the end of the season for ÂŁ13.4m.

After making 180 appearances for Arsenal, he lost his place to David Ospina and was unable to regain it, despite playing in the 2015 FA Cup Final win over Aston Villa.

He was dropped after being caught smoking in the showers after their defeat at Southampton, and struggled to regain the trust of his manager. That summer, Arsenal brought in Petr Cech from rivals Chelsea, and it appeared to be the end for Szczesny.

Last season, history repeated itself as he was caught again doing the same thing after a 6-1 thumping by Barcelona, and was dropped again.

However, these misdemeanours do not appear to have put off Roma. Szczesny started Euro 2016 as Poland’s first-choice keeper, but suffered an injury during the tournament, replaced by Lukasz Fabianski.
