Manchester United travel to Arsenal without De Gea

According to Irish Mirror, Manchester United have travelled to London to face Arsenal on a Friday night FA Cup fourth round tie, but their number one keeper David De Gea hasn’t accompanied the squad.

Hence, second-choice stopper Sergio Romero to start in goal at the Emirates tomorrow.

Luke Shaw and former Gunners’ star man Alexis Sanchez is in line for a return in the United lineup for this blockbuster tie. The latter left Arsenal a year ago and is yet to return to Emirates wearing the opposition jersey since.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the Chilean international, who missed the last two games because of a hamstring injury, would feature tomorrow.

The Norwegian spoke to the MUTV Channel about Sanchez: “He’ll be involved. I think he’ll love it if the crowd turn against him.”

“As a player, pride kicks in and you think ‘I’ll show all of you’,” the gaffer added.

Chris Smalling is back in training but this game would come too soon for him, while Marouane Fellaini and Marcos Rojo are still missing.

Solskjaer was speaking to the media ahead of the game and said: “Smalling has started training so hopefully he’ll be available maybe next week so it’s looking good for him. Fellaini and Rojo are still a bit away.”

“We have a very good and talented squad. There are players there that need to play and have the quality to play. There will be one or two changes definitely.”
