He has returned to training early

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has returned to Arsenal training one week earlier than the rest of the squad, in order to prove his fitness and worth to Arsene Wenger.

After starting the 2015/16 season off with a goal at Wembley Stadium during Arsenal’s Community Shield victory over Chelsea, it was nothing but downhill for the ‘Ox’.

The 22-year old was ravaged with niggling injuries before suffering damage to his knee ligaments in February’s Champions League loss to Barcelona.

That injury meant that he would miss the rest of the season, as well as Euro 2016, and many believed his time at the Emirates Stadium would be up.

However, he has comeback more determined than ever, returning to training a week before the Gunners’ pre-season officially starts.
